Our Team
Meet our passionate and experienced team.
Roberta Wentworth, LCSW, LMT
Roberta is a co-founder of Rekindled Spirit Retreats. As a licensed social worker, she has 40 years of experience working with individuals who suffered from complex trauma and grief. Roberta understands first hand that our healing and well-being are interconnected with our physical, emotional and spiritual self.
Roberta began her career working for the Maine Department of Human Services in family and child protective services. Since 1983, she has served as a supervisor and psychotherapist at Maine Behavioral Health (formerly Counseling Services, Inc.), a community mental health agency in Maine. She is currently the Director of Complimentary Therapy.
Seeing the important role the body plays in healing, Roberta became a massage therapist in 1996. In 2000, she was asked by the CEO of Counseling Services to develop and oversee a complementary therapies program. It became the first mental health agency in the country to offer massage, acupuncture, Reiki and healing touch.
Throughout her career, Roberta has served as a consultant for York County Hospice and York County Visiting Nurses, and as a trainer for foster parents. She has taught at the University of Maine and Eastern Nazarene College and given workshops throughout New England.
Roberta is also a licensed massage therapist and certified Spiritual Director.
Roberta holds a BA from Eastern Nazarene College and a Masters of Social Work from Boston College. In 1995 she was awarded the Hero Award from Boston College School of Social Work.
Joanne Croft
Joanne's is a co-founder of Rekindled Spirit Retreats. Her life passion is to help people nourish body, mind and spirit.
She started her career as an occupational therapist and worked as an OTR in Physical Rehabilitation at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME from 1973-1987. From this work, Joanne felt a new calling and became co-owner and manager of a Christian bookstore in her hometown of Somersworth, NH. There she found people would come to the bookstore on a daily basis to sit, rest, read and pray. Often, they just needed a listening ear to share difficulties and crises in their lives.
This observation gave Joanne the vision to open "Winterpast," a retreat center and place of solitude in Alfred, ME that provided comfort for all those seeking a deeper communion with God and self. Joanne built her programming around the hopes that participants left nourished and renewed knowing that they were beloved Children of God. Joanne ran the center from 2002-2013.
Joanne is a certified Spiritual Director. She is also trained and certified in providing facial rejuvenation treatments, which she finds to be a sacred modality based on the ancient healing arts of head reflexology and nerve rejuvenation. It allows transformational change physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Joanne holds a BS in Occupational Therapy from University of New Hampshire.
